Shelbyville TTC Foundation
Purpose
The Foundation was formed as a nonprofit corporation in the State of Tennessee with the purpose to foster, support and aid the educational objectives and misson of the Tennesse Technology Center at Shelbyville. It was founded in 2000 with the aid of former State Senator Andy Womack. The Foundation helps to close the breach of dwindling state tax dollars.
TTCS History
Tennesse Technology Center at Shelbyville opened its doors in September of 1964 as the first within the state Area Vocational Technical School System.
The TTCS provides the cornerstone for occupational careers. These careers utilize state-of-the-art technologies which can be learned through programs offered at the Center.
The history of TTCS has been a story of success - success for the school with continued growth and strength - success for the instructors' graduates which enables them to enjoy a better way of life. These successful results provide local businessses and industries with better trained employees.
Contributions to the Foundation help supplement funds earmarked for the high-tech equipment the Center needs to provide quality education. It is this occupational focus that helps to make strong the workforce of Tennessee.
Private gifts to the Shelbyville TTC Foundation allow the institution to continue
- to improve our training
- to provide scholarships to quality students who will become valuable assests to the workforce
- to enhance our programs with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment for training
