Part-Time - Fayetteville - Classes begin May 2008

Beginning January 8, 2008, you may pick up the application packet in person for the  Part –Time Practical Nursing program.  This packet will include an instruction sheet, the application form, and  reference questionnaires.  You will also need to submit proof of high school graduation or completion of the GED.  When the packet is complete, you may return it in person.  Packets will not be accepted after January 30, 2008, if the number of applicants needed has been met.  Deadline for taking the NET is January 19, 2008.
 
Part-Time Program - Winchester - Classes begin September 2008

Beginning May 5, 2008, you may pick up the application packet in person for the Practical Nursing program.  This packet will include an instruction sheet, the application form, and  reference questionnaires.  You will also need to submit proof of high school graduation or completion of the GED. When the packet is complete, you may return it in person.  Packets will not be accepted after May 30, 2008, if the number of applicants needed has been met.  Deadline for taking the NET is May 14, 2008.
 
Full Time Program - Shelbyville - Classes begin September 2008

Step 4 - Acceptance Standards
Each applicant will be evaluated according to NET scores, educational history, work history and reference questionnaires.  Not everyone who applies will be accepted into the program.  Persons  not accepted into the program will have to re-apply to be considered for future programs.
 
Step 5 - Notification of Status

You will be notified by mail regarding your status in the class.  This should occur by early April for the Fayetteville program, early August for the Winchester program and Shelbyville programs.
 
NOTE: Financial Aid is available to students who apply and meet the necessary qualifications.  Contact the Student Services Office for more information.

** Transfer Students -
Transfer students can be accepted into the Practical Nursing Program.   If you think you might be a transfer student, contact the Student Services Department for more information.

Text Box: Welcome to the Tennessee Technology Center at Shelbyville School of Practical Nursing.  Applying for this program is completely different from any other program we have here at the Center.  We are giving you this sheet to help answer as many questions as possible.  However, if you still have questions, please feel free to contact us.  We’re here to help.
 
There are three different Practical Nursing programs offered.  There is one full-time program.  It is offered in Shelbyville and meets Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. It begins in September of each year and completes the end of August the following year.  There are two part-time programs.  One meets in Winchester and the other meets in Fayetteville.  Classes meet Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4:45 p.m. until 9:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 6:45 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. Each program is 16 months in length.  Please check with Student Services for starting dates.  Regardless of the program,  travel is required to different sites for both clinicals and labs.  Also, a computer with internet access is needed at home or access to one is needed.
 
All applications are handled through the main campus in Shelbyville by contacting the Student Services Department.  DO NOT contact the Nursing Department; they will simply refer you back to Student Services.
