Industrial Maintenance


This course is designed to prepare students to enter the Industrial Maintenance field in an entry-level position and to enhance the skills of students already employed in the field. The program provides instruction to develop the skills needed to succeed in the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment in industrial environment.

Mission

The mission of the program is to provide students with the skills to succeed in the Industrial Maintenance field at various levels.

Nature of the Work

Technicians employed in the Industrial Maintenance field are vital to all industrial operations.

Industry is currently in need of individuals who are capable of performing a variety of plant maintenance responsibilities. Technological advancements have created new skill demands, methods and equipment that have increased the potential of industry to manufacture products and deliver services. Industrial maintenance is a broad field characterized by diverse tasks since each equipment repair job presents a different problem.

The industrial maintenance technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, disassembly, repair and reassembly of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems on industrial machinery.
