NATURE OF WORK Technicians employed in the area of industrial maintenance are vital to all industrial operations. Industry is currently in need of individuals who are capable of performing a variety of plant maintenance responsibilities. Technological advancements have created new skill demands, methods and equipment that have increased the potential of industry to manufacture products and deliver services. Industrial maintenance is a broad field characterized by diverse tasks since each equipment repair job presents a different problem. The industrial maintenance technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, disassembly, repair and reassembly of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems on industrial machinery. |
